O feminismo é um movimento social e político de mulheres e para mulheres que desde o século XIX vem ganhando espaço em todo o mundo, promovendo mudanças políticas e sociais em benefício das mulheres e da sociedade como um todo. Suas bandeiras iniciais eram o acesso à educação formal e o direito ao voto e à elegibilidade para mulheres, seguidas por liberdades civis e autonomia legal, como o direito a posses, direitos trabalhistas e direito ao divórcio.
Mais à frente os direitos reprodutivos e a luta contra a violência física, sexual e psicológica também se tornaram bandeiras importantes desse movimento. Ao longo dos anos e conforme cada contexto, o feminismo também foi incorporando demandas específicas e permanece de suma importância para a emancipação feminina e construção de sociedades mais equânimes.

Feminism is a social and political movement of women and for women that since the 19th century has been gaining ground around the world, promoting political and social changes for the benefit of women and society as a whole. Its initial flags were access to formal education and the right to vote and eligibility for women, followed by civil liberties and legal autonomy, such as the right to property, labor rights and the right to divorce.
Later on, reproductive rights and the fight against physical, sexual and psychological violence also became important banners of this movement. Over the years and according to each context, feminism has also incorporated specific demands and remains of paramount importance for female emancipation and the construction of more equitable societies.
